Town Hall, known locally as Magistrat, is a prominent landmark on Mestni trg (Town Square) in the heart of Ljubljana's old town. The building dates back to the 15th century but was extensively renovated in the 18th century in a Baroque style, with a distinctive clock tower and a grand staircase. It serves as the seat of the Ljubljana City Council and the Mayor's office. Visitors can explore the ground floor, which houses a tourist information center and occasionally hosts exhibitions. The interior features frescoes, a marble staircase, and the Council Chamber with portraits of historical figures. The building's facade is adorned with a large coat of arms of Ljubljana and a statue of Hercules. The adjacent courtyard contains a fountain and a replica of the Robba Fountain, a Baroque masterpiece. The square itself is lively with cafes and street performers, making it a central hub for exploring the city.

The building has undergone several restorations, most recently after the 1895 earthquake, and continues to function as the city's administrative center.
