Jinnah Park

Jinnah Park is an amusement and public park on Airport Road in the Chaklala Cantonment suburb of Rawalpindi, Pakistan. It is the town's primary amusement park, covering about 17 hectares. The park features lawns, flowerbeds, fountains, sculptures, and a variety of rides and games for children. It also houses restaurants, cafes, and Pakistan's first multiplex cinema.

• The park houses Cinepax, Pakistan's first multiplex cinema.
• Cosmo Cash and Carry inside the park retails groceries, meat, frozen foods, dairy, health and beauty products, and appliances at a discount.
• The roller rink is open only for children or inexperienced roller skaters during certain hours.

A bit of history

The site was previously occupied by the maximum-security District Jail Rawalpindi, which opened in 1882. Former president and prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was imprisoned there before his execution in 1979. The prison was demolished in 1988. Construction of the park began in 1995, and after delays, it opened in 2006.
