A bit of history

The park was inaugurated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during his second term and was originally named after him. In April 2016, police deemed the site unsafe, leading to a temporary closure. It was renamed Allama Iqbal Park in August 2019. In October 2025, development schemes for a major remodeling were submitted, with surveying and design planning starting in December 2025.
