Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, commonly called the Golden Temple, is a historic Buddhist monastery dating back to the 12th century. Its name comes from the gilded copper facade that gleams in the sunlight, adorned with intricate carvings and a large prayer wheel. Inside, visitors find a serene courtyard with a central shrine housing a golden statue of Lord Buddha. The monastery is still active, and you may see monks chanting or performing rituals. The peaceful ambiance and rich history make it a must-see in Patan.
