The Malta Maritime Museum in Birgu occupies the historic former Naval Bakery, a massive 19th-century building. It chronicles Malta's maritime heritage from ancient times to the present, with exhibits on shipbuilding, trade, and naval warfare. Visitors see a vast collection of ship models, navigational instruments, and artifacts from the Knights of St. John and British eras. The museum's setting by the Grand Harbour adds authenticity.
