Fort St. Angelo stands on a promontory in Birgu, commanding the entrance to the Grand Harbour. Originally a Roman fort, it was greatly expanded by the Knights of St. John and served as their headquarters during the Great Siege of 1565. Today, visitors explore the bastions, gun platforms, and the restored chapel, while the upper floors house the Malta at War Museum, detailing the fort's role in World War II. The panoramic views of the harbor are stunning.
