Yokohama Landmark Tower

The Yokohama Landmark Tower is a 296.3-meter-tall building in the Minato Mirai 21 district of Yokohama, next to the Yokohama Museum of Art. It houses shops, restaurants, offices, a five-star hotel, and an observation deck called Sky Garden on the 69th floor, offering 360-degree views of the city and, on clear days, Mount Fuji.

Getting there

Know before you go

• The Minato Mirai Line connects directly from Yokohama Station; Minato Mirai Station's entrance hall offers a view up into the tower.
• The elevators are among the fastest in the world, reaching the 69th floor in about 40 seconds.
• The Sky Garden observation deck is temporarily closing after 31 December 2025 for renovations, with reopening scheduled sometime in or after 2028.

A bit of history

Until surpassed by Abeno Harukas in 2014, it stood as the tallest building in Japan. It was designed by the architecture and engineering division of Mitsubishi Estate and Hugh Stubbins and Associates.
