It’s great - vibes, visuals and service. Unfortunately food is mediocre, but at the same time looks really good on the plate.
Had the premium lunch set and it was absolutely divine. Fantastic service with pleasant staff and the ambience was great! I will definitely come back again.
Monday night I felt would be an easy booking, it wasn't , we were offered a second seating option at 9pm which we took. Interestingly when we got there we were the only second seating, so I appreciated the accommodation. The setting is magnificent with a beautiful lit garden. We had the Kawabun set menu which was beyond excellent in every course. I also appreciated the flexibility for my non meat eating wife which they accommodated seamlessly through the meat courses. The initial Foie Gras was a sublime first mouthful, pilchard, swordfish, beef, pasta all one better than the other. Wine Te KoKo which I rarely find was pricey but worth it, they also do very nice 1/2 bottles of red. We stayed late, not last, getting a taxi in pouring rain was a challenge but not so much that it caused any dulling of the experience. If ever in Nagoya again I would go back in a heartbeat. Loved it.
Let me start by saying I’ve been here many times, at least +5. Used to be an amazing restaurant, great ambience, great food, great service. The attached bar called Octogon is still a very nice bar. My most recent trip here, food was sub-par (actually physically ill a couple hours later after one of their shrimp dishes) and the service was really bad. An argumentative waiter who just couldn’t be bothered. I watched as he served other patrons and his bad attitude was the same. Very sad, used to be a great place. I reckon their management team had recently changed, ... for the worse.
