Nice hilal food Good experience
We went for our Sons birthday, there were 4 of us, we ordered 2 Chicken Tikka Masala, 1 Lamb Chops & 1 Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi, the Masala's were too hot not the mild creamy curry you get anywhere else, the lamb chops were too spicy and the Jalfrezi which is generally the spicy one, was bland and no taste, we basically left most of our main meals, when we asked mentioned this to the waiter he told us Jalfrezi is not supposed to be spicy, only Vindaloo & Madras are???? The starters were ok, a bit tasteless. Service great, massive place so felt like you were in a cattle market, will not be back and would not recommend.
Went to Akbars on Saturday 30 November. Haven't been there for a while so was really looking forward to it. The Lamb Chops were hot but good. The Aubergine Sizzler was excellent. After that, it went downhill very quickly. We ordered one chicken byriani which was way too salty and could not finish it. One "Indian Hot" chicken Jalfrezi. It had no colour and looked very bland. I'm not sure where the heat was but I couldn't really taste it. I complained and "Harry" organised another supposedly hotter dish. This had less spice than the first effort and was salty. By this time, we had had enough and asked for the bill. As it included the Jalfrezi, I respectfully asked for it to be taken off the bill. This was finally done and we left the premises feeling extremely let down. Don't get me wrong, I've had hundreds of Jalfrezi curries over the years, but this must have been the worst I've ever experienced. We have never complained about food served to us so this is our first review, which is a big shame. Given the amount of competition in Manchester, I would suggest that Akbars need to up their game. Very disppointingly we will not be returning.
