Matsuyama Castle is one of Japan's finest original castles, perched on Mount Katsuyama at 132 meters above sea level. Built in the early 17th century, it survived the feudal era and is now a National Treasure. The castle complex includes the main keep, turrets, and stone walls, all offering a glimpse into samurai-era defenses. From the top, visitors enjoy sweeping views of Matsuyama city, the Seto Inland Sea, and the surrounding mountains. The castle is especially beautiful during cherry blossom season and autumn foliage.
