Dōgo Onsen is a legendary hot spring in Matsuyama, believed to be over 3,000 years old. Its main bathhouse, the Dōgo Onsen Honkan, is a striking wooden structure built in 1894, featuring intricate carvings and a distinctive three-story tower. Visitors can soak in the soothing alkaline waters in several public baths, including the grand Kami-no-Yu. The bathhouse's mystical atmosphere and architecture reportedly inspired the bathhouse in Hayao Miyazaki's film 'Spirited Away'.
