Verona Villafranca Airport (also known as Valerio Catullo Airport) is the primary air gateway for Verona and the popular Lake Garda area. Located about 12 kilometers southwest of Verona's city center, it handles a mix of scheduled and charter flights to European destinations, including many from the UK, Germany, and Eastern Europe. The airport is modern but compact, with a single terminal that offers essential services such as shops, cafés, car rental desks, and a tourist information point. It's well-connected to the city by bus and taxi, and the journey takes around 20-30 minutes. For travelers heading to Lake Garda, the airport is also conveniently situated near the southern shore. Despite its relatively small size, the airport can get busy during peak tourist seasons, so arriving early is advisable.
