The Castelvecchio Bridge, also known as Ponte Scaligero, is a magnificent fortified bridge connecting Castelvecchio to the opposite bank of the Adige. Built in the 14th century, its three red-brick arches span the river with elegant crenellations and a covered walkway. The bridge was destroyed by retreating German troops in 1945 but was meticulously rebuilt using salvaged original stones, reopening in 1951. Today, pedestrians can cross freely, enjoying views of the castle and river. The bridge's asymmetry – with one arch larger than the others – adds to its charm. At night, it is beautifully lit, creating a romantic silhouette against the water.
