Piazza San Carlo is one of Turin's most refined squares, often called the 'salotto' (drawing room) of the city. It is a long, rectangular space flanked by uniform arcaded buildings and dominated by the twin Baroque churches of San Carlo and Santa Cristina. At its center stands the equestrian statue of Emanuele Filiberto. The square is paved with cobblestones and surrounded by upscale shops and historic cafes, including the famous Caffè Torino. It is a favorite spot for a leisurely stroll or an aperitivo, with a lively yet elegant atmosphere.
