Parco del Valentino is a sprawling green oasis along the banks of the Po River in central Turin. Covering over 50 hectares, it is the city's most beloved park, offering a peaceful retreat from urban bustle. The park is dotted with tree-lined avenues, flowerbeds, fountains, and statues. Its main attraction is the Borgo Medioevale (Medieval Village), a faithful reconstruction of a 15th-century Piedmontese village, complete with a castle, cobblestone streets, and artisan workshops. Visitors can explore the castle's interiors, climb the towers, and see craftspeople at work. The park also hosts the Castello del Valentino, a 17th-century Savoy residence (now part of the university), and the Orto Botanico, a botanical garden. Along the river, a long promenade is popular for jogging, cycling, and relaxing. The park frequently holds events, from open-air concerts to food festivals.
