The Ponte di Tiberio is one of the best-preserved Roman bridges in Italy, spanning the Marecchia River in Rimini. Constructed between 14 and 21 AD under the reigns of Emperor Augustus and his successor Tiberius, the bridge features five arches made of Istrian stone. Its robust design has withstood floods and earthquakes for nearly two millennia. Visitors can walk across the bridge, which is still open to pedestrian traffic, and admire the ancient stonework and inscriptions. The bridge offers picturesque views of the river and the historic city walls. It is a testament to Roman engineering and a serene spot for a stroll, especially at sunset when the stone glows warmly.
