Pointe Helbronner

Pointe Helbronner is a prominent peak at 3,462 meters on the Mont Blanc massif, straddling the border between Italy and France. It is the upper terminus of the Skyway Monte Bianco cable car from Courmayeur, making it one of the most accessible high-altitude viewpoints in the Alps. At the summit, visitors find a panoramic terrace, a mountain observatory (the 'Stazione Meteorologica' and 'Osservatorio'), and the entrance to the Mont Blanc Tunnel's ventilation shaft. The observatory, built in the 1950s, houses scientific instruments and offers exhibits on glaciology and meteorology. From Pointe Helbronner, you can see the entire Mont Blanc range, including the iconic peaks of the Grandes Jorasses, the Matterhorn, and the Monte Rosa. The cable car ride itself is an experience, with rotating cabins that provide 360-degree views as you ascend. On clear days, the vista stretches across the Alps into Switzerland and France.
