The Seven Pagodas refer to a mythical complex of temples along the Coromandel Coast, of which only the Shore Temple remains visible today. According to local lore, six temples were swallowed by the sea. The Shore Temple, a stunning granite structure built in the 8th century, stands as a testament to Pallava architecture, with its twin spires and intricate carvings. Visitors can explore the temple's sanctums and walk along the shoreline, imagining the submerged city below. The site is especially atmospheric at sunrise or sunset, when the temple is silhouetted against the ocean.
