Our Lady of Tinos, also known as the Church of Evangelistria, is the most important pilgrimage site in Greece. Located in Tinos town, the church contains a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary discovered in 1823. Visitors ascend a broad marble staircase to the ornate interior, where the icon is displayed. The church attracts thousands on feast days, especially August 15, when pilgrims crawl on their hands and knees as a sign of devotion. The site also includes a museum with religious artifacts.
