The Archdiocese of Naxos, Tinos, Andros and Mykonos is the Roman Catholic center for several Cycladic islands, but its most famous site is the Church of Panagia Evangelistria in Tinos town. This grand white church, built around a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary discovered in 1823, is a major pilgrimage destination. Visitors can see the icon, richly adorned with gold and silver offerings, and explore the church's marble courtyard and museum. The annual feast on August 15 draws thousands, but the site remains reverent and accessible year-round.
