Porte d'Amont is the sea arch on the eastern side of the Étretat cliffs, smaller than Porte d'Aval but offering its own charm. This arch is located near the town and is easily accessible via a short walk from the beach. The arch frames a view of the town and the cliffs beyond, and at low tide, visitors can walk right up to it. The area around Porte d'Amont is also home to a small chapel, Notre-Dame de la Garde, perched on the cliff above. The combination of the arch, the chapel, and the sea creates a picturesque scene. The clifftop path from the town to the arch is lined with wildflowers in spring and offers views of the entire bay. Porte d'Amont is a popular spot for watching the sunset, as the sun sets over the sea to the west, casting a warm glow on the arch.
