The Chemin des Douaniers (Customs Officers' Path) is a historic walking trail that winds along the clifftops of the Alabaster Coast. In Étretat, it provides unparalleled perspectives of the famous cliffs, Falaise d'Amont and Falaise d'Aval, as well as the natural arch and the needle-shaped rock. The path is well-maintained and relatively flat in sections, though there are some steep parts. It stretches for several kilometers, connecting Étretat to neighboring towns like Fécamp or Le Havre. Walkers can enjoy sweeping views of the English Channel, wildflowers in spring, and seabirds nesting on the cliffs. The trail is part of the GR21 long-distance footpath, making it a favorite for hikers. Along the way, you'll find benches for resting and photo opportunities. The experience is both invigorating and serene, with the sound of waves crashing below and the wind in your face. It's a must-do for anyone wanting to fully appreciate the dramatic coastline.
