The Nungesser et Coli Monument is a poignant landmark perched atop the famous cliff 'L'Aiguille Creuse' (Hollow Needle) in Étretat. Erected in 1928, the monument consists of a stone obelisk and a bronze sculpture of a winged figure, symbolizing the spirit of aviation. It commemorates the French aviators Charles Nungesser and François Coli, who vanished in 1927 while attempting the first non-stop flight from Paris to New York aboard the 'L'Oiseau Blanc' (White Bird). Visitors can walk to the monument along the cliff path, enjoying breathtaking views of the English Channel and the iconic Étretat arches. The site is a favorite for photographers and history buffs alike.
