Rocher des Doms is a serene public garden perched on a rocky outcrop in the heart of Avignon. As you wander along its shaded pathways, you'll encounter lush lawns, vibrant flowerbeds, and tranquil ponds. The main draw is the breathtaking panoramic view from the terrace: the entire city of Avignon spreads out below, with the Rhône River curving past and the iconic Pont d'Avignon (Pont Saint-Bénézet) stretching partway across the water. On clear days, you can see the distant Alpilles mountains. The garden also features a small café and a playground, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon. Its elevated position, once the site of a Celtic oppidum and later a bishop's palace, gives it a timeless atmosphere.
