Pointe de la Parata is a dramatic rocky headland jutting into the Mediterranean just west of Ajaccio. From the clifftop, you get sweeping views of the Sanguinaires Islands, the Gulf of Ajaccio, and the rugged Corsican coastline. A well-maintained coastal path leads from the parking area along the cliffs, offering photo opportunities at every turn. The star attraction is the Tour de la Parata, a 16th-century Genoese watchtower that stands proudly on the point. You can walk around its base and imagine the sentinels who once scanned the horizon for pirates. The area is also a great spot for birdwatching, especially for seabirds like gulls and cormorants. On clear days, the sunsets are spectacular, painting the sky and sea in shades of orange and pink.
