Plage de Marinella is one of Ajaccio's most beloved beaches, located along the scenic Route des Sanguinaires. It features a long stretch of fine, golden sand and clear, turquoise water that gently slopes into the sea, making it ideal for swimming and families. The beach is backed by low dunes and scrubland, with views of the Sanguinaires Islands to the west. Unlike some more secluded coves, Marinella has good facilities: there are lifeguards in summer, a few beachside restaurants and snack bars, and rental options for sunbeds and umbrellas. The water is usually calm, perfect for paddleboarding or snorkeling. Because of its easy access and amenities, it can get busy in July and August, but the long shoreline means you can usually find a spot. The beach is also a great place to watch the sunset over the islands.
