Place Charles de Gaulle, commonly called Place du Diamant due to its diamond shape, is the central hub of Ajaccio. The square is dominated by a grand monument to Napoleon Bonaparte and his four brothers, erected in the 19th century. The bronze statues depict Napoleon on horseback, surrounded by his siblings, symbolizing the family's prominence.
