✨ HighlightI came here for a dinner with friends and Rodney’s Oyster house never disappoints. The service and food was great. We started off with some oysters and I prefer east coast in general and the oysters were fresh and they had an assortment of toppings. We also ordered different mains and I really liked the feature menu main they had. We had some minor issues and felt that the server and manager resolved it well. I really recommend this place for seafood. The live seafood menu is market price and they will bring it to your table prior to cooking. I also like the atmosphere and indoor decor. You should check out the wall art in the bathrooms.→

✨ Highlight4.5/5 Cute, romantic cozy place. Not too big, not too small. Interior colour combination is good - antique and modern. All staff were very friendly and professional. Attentive. Food overall was good but on salty side. 7 layer dip was interesting and good. not sure jf it's worth $62 tho. Beef tartare was very salty so instead of re-making, we asked for some slices of bread and they charged us for the bread. it's not much but details matter. Lasagna was surprisingly good and eggplant was more Mediterranean style. Skate was a bit dry.→

✨ HighlightAlder is hands-down the best dining experience I have ever had. I've been going since it opened in 2022, and the chefs and staff continue to exceed my expectations each time. The menu rotates so often that I feel as if I'm going to a new place each time, but somehow my old reliable favourites still hold a spot (looking at you, cucumber salad and coconut cream pie!). I genuinely cannot overstate how incredible this place is. It's a beautiful space with high ceilings and great lighting, and even though it's spacious, you still feel like you have an intimate experience. The staff are always so kind and attentive and ready to chat about any item on the menu. If you're going, I recommend getting several plates to share so you can try a big of everything. Each dish has been so carefully thought out and curated, and cooked to perfection. I'm not a drinker, but they are always ready to let me go off menu with a fun mocktail, which I really appreciate. And if you're looking for a place for a special occasion, truly look no further. I was here in December 2024 for a final girl dinner with my friend before she moves abroad, and we had the best service I've ever gotten anywhere, and the staff dropped off a hand-written card with well wishes for my friend ahead of her big move. Alder is such a special spot and I can't wait until I get the chance to go back again. Special shout-out to Victoria for making our last night so memorable!→

✨ HighlightWe had an overall enjoyable experience here, thanks to the kind and attentive staff, including the chef himself. The select dishes served by the chef, including the five appetizers at the start, were excellent. I loved the uni dish and toro. The Masayoshi house sake stood out as my favorite as well —it was incredibly smooth and delightful. However, as a Michelin-starred restaurant, there are significant areas for improvement: 1. Reservation Timing: We had an 8:30 PM reservation, but the previous seating didn’t finish until 8:45. This delay was not an ideal start to a dinner that lasted until 11 PM. Better coordination is needed to avoid such waits. 2. Portion Sizes: While the sushi and appetizers were flavorful, the portions were underwhelming. We left still feeling hungry after a nearly $500 meal. We actually had to stop by at the hotel bar to have more food. Compared to other top-tier omakase experiences globally, the sushi pieces were notably smaller, with disappointingly thinner slices of fish. I feel they won't lose much profit even if they increase the quantity by 30-40%. 3. The system: The chef frequently left the bar to prepare dishes and manage staff, which disrupted the flow of the meal. This gave the impression of a lack of coordination. The system should be refined so the chef can stay focused on the dining experience without interruptions. Despite these critiques, it was still a great experience. Given the restaurant’s Michelin recognition, I hope this constructive feedback helps them enhance their offerings and provide even greater joy to their customers.→

✨ HighlightEnjoyed my experience here, definitely a unique experience with the conveyor belts! Love the seasoned rice and everything tasted great. The cranberry drink is not too sweet which I liked. Peach mule, and lychee drinks were very sweet but great! The only one we didn't like was the aburi Hokkaido scallop, it had a weird texture. Our favourites were the Tare aburi squid, aburi red prawn and o-toro.→
