Plattenspitze, standing at 2,297 meters, is a distinctive mountain in the Schladming Tauern range, easily recognizable from Obertauern. The summit offers a 360-degree panorama of the surrounding peaks, including the Dachstein glacier and the Niedere Tauern. The most popular hiking route starts from the Zehnerkar lift top station, leading through alpine terrain with rocky sections and a final scramble. The hike is moderately challenging and takes about 2–3 hours one way. In summer, the trail is adorned with wildflowers, and you may encounter ibex or chamois. The summit cross is a classic photo spot. For less experienced hikers, the nearby Seekarsee lake offers a gentler alternative with equally beautiful views.

  • Hike to the summit for breathtaking panoramic views
