Schloss Ort is a stunning castle located on a small island in Lake Traunsee, connected to the mainland by a wooden bridge. The castle complex consists of two parts: the older, medieval core with its distinctive round tower, and a newer Renaissance wing. Visitors can explore the castle's courtyards, chapels, and rooms, which house a museum detailing the history of the region. The island setting makes it one of the most photographed landmarks in Austria. Its distinctive silhouette, with the Traunstein mountain rising behind, creates a fairy-tale scene. The castle also gained fame as a filming location for the German TV series 'Schlosshotel Orth'. What makes it special is the seamless blend of medieval and Renaissance architecture, set against the serene lake and alpine backdrop.
