Crown Fountain

Crown Fountain, designed by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, is a playful water feature in Millennium Park. Two 50-foot glass brick towers face each other across a shallow reflecting pool. On each tower, LED screens display the faces of 1,000 Chicagoans in slow-motion video. Every few minutes, the faces purse their lips and a stream of water cascades down, delighting children and adults who wade in the pool. The fountain operates from May through October.
