• The crossing is busiest during the day, but foot traffic remains high even at midnight and early morning.
• Halloween and New Year's Eve gatherings have been restricted; public alcohol consumption is banned year-round from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• The crossing has appeared in many films and TV shows, including Lost in Translation, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and Alice in Borderland.

历史一瞥

The crossing was inaugurated in 1973. It was featured in the 2016 Summer Olympics closing ceremony to promote the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Since the late 2010s, it has become a popular place for young people to gather at Halloween, leading to an ordinance banning public alcohol consumption in the area around Halloween and New Year's Eve. In 2024, the public drinking ban was extended year-round from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
