Atsuta Shrine, founded over 1,900 years ago, is a major Shinto shrine in Nagoya. It is revered as the repository of the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, one of the three Imperial Regalia of Japan, though the sword is not on public display. The shrine's serene forested grounds feature ancient trees, a museum with cultural treasures, and several smaller shrines. Visitors can participate in traditional Shinto rituals, such as making offerings and purchasing omamori (charms). The shrine hosts vibrant festivals throughout the year.
