Choglamsar, located about 7 kilometers from Leh, is a unique suburb that serves as a center for Tibetan culture and Buddhist learning. It is home to a large Tibetan refugee settlement, where visitors can explore workshops producing traditional carpets and handicrafts. The Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS) is a major attraction, offering courses in Buddhist philosophy and languages, and housing a library with rare manuscripts. The area also features several monasteries and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a great place to learn about Tibetan Buddhism and the refugee community's resilience.
