Runyon Canyon Park

Runyon Canyon Park is a 160-acre urban park in the Hollywood Hills, renowned for its hiking trails and spectacular vistas. The park features three main trails: a paved road, a dirt path, and a more challenging steep route, all leading to viewpoints overlooking the Hollywood Sign, downtown LA, and on clear days, the Pacific Ocean. Despite being in the heart of Hollywood, the park feels like a natural escape, with chaparral-covered hillsides and occasional wildlife like hawks and rabbits. The entrance at Fuller Avenue is marked by a small parking lot, but street parking is common. The land was originally part of a larger estate owned by businessman and philanthropist Griffith J. Griffith, who donated it to the city. It was developed as a park in the 1980s and named after a local ranching family.
