Safa and Marwa are two small hills located within the Masjid al-Haram complex in Mecca. They are connected by a covered walkway (the Masa'a) that pilgrims traverse seven times as part of the Sa'ee ritual during Hajj and Umrah. The walkway is air-conditioned and spans about 450 meters. The hills themselves are now enclosed within the mosque's expansion, marked by green lights at each end. The experience is deeply spiritual, commemorating Hagar's search for water for her son Ishmael. The area is always busy, especially during Ramadan and Hajj, with pilgrims moving in a steady stream. The walkway is divided into two levels to accommodate the massive crowds, with separate lanes for those with disabilities.

Một chút lịch sử
According to Islamic tradition, the hills of Safa and Marwa are where Hagar ran between them searching for water, leading to the miraculous spring of Zamzam. The Sa'ee ritual commemorates this event and has been performed since the time of Prophet Ibrahim.
