Plaza San Martín is a central square in Lima, named after the liberator of Peru. Its centerpiece is a striking monument to José de San Martín, erected in 1921. The square is ringed by stately buildings with French-style architecture, including the Gran Hotel Bolívar and the Teatro Colón.
