The Roman Baths in Beirut are a remarkable archaeological site dating back to the 2nd century AD, when Berytus (ancient Beirut) was a major Roman colony. Excavated in the 1960s and later integrated into a public park, these ruins showcase the sophisticated bathing culture of the Romans, with visible remains of frigidarium (cold room), tepidarium (warm room), and caldarium (hot room). Visitors can walk along elevated walkways above the ruins, reading informative plaques that explain the baths' function and history. The site is a peaceful oasis in the bustling city center, surrounded by modern cafes and shops.
