Praia da Penha

Praia da Penha is a small urban park and beach area located in the historic Ribeira district of Salvador, Bahia. Though not a traditional sandy beach, it features a paved promenade lined with benches and shaded by palm trees, where visitors can sit and watch fishing boats bob in the bay. The park is centered around a modest chapel, Igreja da Penha, which lends the area its name. On weekends, families gather here for leisurely strolls, and local vendors sell snacks and coconut water. The site offers a tranquil escape from the city's busier tourist zones, with views across the Baía de Todos os Santos. The surrounding neighborhood is one of Salvador's oldest, with colorful colonial buildings and a laid-back vibe.
