Wat Saket, known as the Golden Mount, is a Buddhist temple built on a man-made hill in the old city of Bangkok. The hill was created from earth excavated during canal construction, and the golden chedi at its summit glitters in the sun. Visitors climb a winding staircase lined with bells and trees, passing shrines and small gardens. At the top, the 360-degree view of Bangkok's sprawling cityscape is breathtaking, especially at sunset. The temple also hosts a lively fair during the annual Loy Krathong festival. It's a serene escape from the city's hustle.
