The Luohan Twin Towers, also known as the Pagodas of Dinghuisi, are a pair of ancient brick pagodas located in Suzhou's Canglang District. Built during the Song Dynasty (960–1279), these seven-story octagonal towers stand side by side, a rare example of twin pagodas in China. The pagodas were originally part of the Dinghui Temple, which no longer exists. Each tower is about 30 meters tall and features intricate brick corbelling, arched doors, and delicate eaves. Visitors can walk around the base and admire the harmonious proportions and aged brickwork. The site is modest but historically significant, offering a quiet contrast to Suzhou's more famous gardens. The surrounding area is a residential neighborhood, giving a sense of local life. What makes the Luohan Twin Towers distinctive is their symmetry and the mystery of their survival through centuries of change, standing as silent witnesses to Suzhou's long history.
