The name 'Jyanjyan' comes from the sound of shamisen music that once filled the air. This post-war shopping street retains a nostalgic Showa-era vibe with its low ceilings, small eateries, and quirky shops. Visitors can sample Osaka specialties like kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers), takoyaki, and okonomiyaki at tiny counter seats. The atmosphere is lively and slightly gritty, with locals and tourists mingling. It's a great place to experience old-school Osaka charm away from the more polished tourist spots.
