Ripley's Aquarium of Canada

Right at the foot of the CN Tower in downtown Toronto, Ripley's Aquarium is a slick, modern attraction built around Dangerous Lagoon, a long moving walkway that carries you through a glass tunnel as sharks, rays, and a giant sawfish glide overhead. It's compact enough to see in a couple of hours but well designed, with jellyfish galleries lit like art installations, a touch tank of rays, and habitats spanning cold Pacific kelp forests to tropical reefs.

Its central location makes it one of the easiest family outings in the city, pair it with the CN Tower next door. Like all big-city aquariums it's popular, so timed online tickets and an earlier visit pay off.
