An Hien Garden House is a beautifully preserved example of a traditional Hue garden house, nestled in the Kim Long area along the Perfume River. This historic residence, once home to a royal mandarin, showcases the quintessential elements of Hue’s aristocratic architecture: a one-story wooden house with intricate carvings, a tiled roof, and a lush garden that blends nature with living space. The current owners, descendants of the original family, welcome visitors and share stories of the house’s history and the daily life of Hue’s nobility. The garden is designed according to feng shui principles, with ponds, fruit trees, and a small pavilion for meditation. It’s a haven of calm, ideal for those interested in architecture, history, or simply escaping the city’s hustle. The house also offers traditional tea and snacks, allowing guests to soak in the ambiance.
