Plaza de las Tres Culturas in Tlatelolco is a unique urban square that layers three eras: pre-Hispanic Aztec pyramids, a Spanish colonial church (Santiago de Tlatelolco), and contemporary apartment buildings. This juxtaposition illustrates Mexico City's layered history. Visitors can walk among the ruins, enter the church, and reflect on the 1968 student massacre memorialized here.
