The National Monument (Tugu Negara) in Kuala Lumpur is a powerful tribute to those who fought for Malaysia's independence. Designed by Austrian sculptor Felix de Weldon, who also created the Iwo Jima memorial, the monument features a group of seven soldiers holding the Malaysian flag aloft.
