Een stukje geschiedenis

Construction began in 1957 and took ten years, designed by architect Eugene Aftandilian. The hall was equipped with advanced lighting and sound systems, revolving and moving stages, and a main stage with three levels. It was inaugurated on 26 October 1967 by Mohammad Reza Shah and Shahbanu Farah Pahlavi with the performance of the first Persian opera, 'Rustic Festival'. Before the 1979 Revolution, it hosted world-famous music, opera, and dance artists. After the revolution, it remained Tehran's most important venue, staging traditional Iranian music, pop, and classical concerts.
