Een stukje geschiedenis

The temple was built in the late 1800s by Dagadusheth Halwai, a successful sweet seller and businessman, and his wife Laxmibai after they lost their only son in a plague epidemic. They followed a sage's advice to build a Ganesh temple in his memory. The current idol, known as Navasacha Ganpati, was established by Dattatray Govindsheth Halwai, replacing the second idol. The temple's Ganeshotsav pandal was not put up for the first time in 128 years in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
