Een stukje geschiedenis

The hall was a gift to Toronto from industrialist Hart Massey, who wanted a secular meeting place for choral music and named it after his son Charles. Designed by Sidney Badgley, it opened in 1894 with a performance of Handel's 'Messiah'. It was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1981. The hall closed in 2018 for a major renovation, reopening in 2021 after delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
