Zhang Garden is a European-style building in Tianjin, originally built in the 1930s as a Japanese garrison. The site was once home to a mansion where Sun Yat-sen and the last emperor Puyi lived. Today, you can see the garrison building that replaced the original mansion.

역사 이야기

The site originally held a three-story Western Neoclassical mansion built in 1916 by Qing official Zhang Biao. Sun Yat-sen stayed there in 1924, and Puyi lived there from 1925 to 1929. In the 1930s, the mansion was demolished and replaced with a Japanese garrison building. After World War II, it was used by the Chinese Kuomintang Army, and later as a theatre and library.
